Flight Levels Systems Architecture

Learn how companies achieve real business agility by managing work beyond team boundaries and operationalizing the business strategy.

Description

Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, MorE or LeSS… Teams are trained up and down so that companies finally act agile on the market. Most of the time, however, nothing happens. The teams work hard to live agility, but the fruits of this work do not even make it to the customer due to the maze of internal dependencies.

The problem is: Business agility is not a team sport, but corporate sport. From the strategic to the operational level, agile interactions are necessary.

  • You want to understand how your company generates value and want to be able to map the value stream from customer requirement to delivery.
  • You want to identify how dependencies between teams and departments affect the workflow and how to manage them.
  • You want to achieve that the strategy is understood and implemented at the operational level.
  • You want to make sure that the agile transformation runs correctly from the beginning or gets back on track.
  • You want to learn from the creator of the model what the Flight Levels are and which systems (boards) you need at which level.

The Flight Levels Systems Architecture shows which systems (boards) are needed at which levels of an organization, how they are connected and how coordination can work well. This flow can be created for parts of a company or for the entire organization. Flight Items or Flight Routes show from which sources work comes, which destinations the work goes to in a company and how it gets there. This makes responsibilities and dependencies clear – the best prerequisite for navigating the work more efficiently through the system. On the way to Flight Levels Flow, your organization will go through a change process. We will show you how to initiate this process (take-off) and with which tools you can advance it.

How this training helps you

  • We enable you to independently apply the Flight Levels Model to the context of your company and to take the necessary actions.
  • As Flight Level Academy Guides, we’ll explain to you exactly what we’re thinking and how we’ve helped companies in all industries around the world make massive improvements.
  • For the maximum effect, you develop the Flight Levels Flow for an exemplary company during training (we ask for volunteers). In in-house training, the Flight Levels Flow will be developed for your company.
  • You go home with the knowledge that you can immediately apply in practice.

The contents in short form

The Training

The Flight Levels Flow shows which systems (boards) are needed at which levels of an organization, how they are connected and how coordination can work well. This flow can be created for parts of a company or for the entire organization. Flight Items or Flight Routes show from which sources work originates, which destinations the work is heading to in a company and how it gets there. This makes responsibilities and dependencies clear – the best prerequisite for navigating the work more efficiently through the system. On the way to Flight Levels Flow, your organization will go through a change process. We will show you how to initiate this process (take-off) and with which tools you can push it forward.

For the maximum effect, we develop a possible Flight Levels Flow for an exemplary company during training. In the in-house version of the training, this is of course done for the organizations or departments of the participants. Our goal is that you go home with the knowledge of how to develop Flight Levels Flow and apply this knowledge directly in practice.

Audience

Apart from experienced agile coaches, the training is clearly directed at middle management and senior management. Your company is in an agile transition, teams are already working with agile methods, but success is waiting. Agility is a declared goal in your company and you want to know how to approach it successfully and cost-effectively. You’re not a fan of framework religions, agile marketing posters, and standard mash recipes but want a customized approach for your organization. You want to break through the agile team boundaries and achieve agility for your entire organization.
